BOTTEGA VENETA SUMMER 26 SHOW

music supervision

For this season, Oscar-winning director and acclaimed contemporary artist Steve McQueen has been commissioned to curate the show’s playlist. In harmony with the themes of the collection envisioned by Louise Trotter, he created a soundscape that is both radical and unprecedented. At the heart of the project lies a singular musical work: a reimagining of Wild Is the Wind, blending the iconic interpretations by Nina Simone (1966) and David Bowie (1976) into a unique, seamless composition. Entitled ’66–’76, this creation brings the two versions into conversation by rearranging the original recordings: David Bowie’s voice is laid over Nina Simone’s piano, while Simone’s vocals merge with Bowie’s orchestration, until both universes blend into an entirely new sonic tapestry. From the first discussions to the final agreements, Astral had the pleasure of overseeing negotiations with the rights holders to bring this artistic vision to life.
